North Shore communities publish 2022 Diversity Catalog

February 25, 2022 by Allysha Dunnigan

Lynn, Marblehead, Peabody, Salem, Swampscott, and Beverly have published the second annual North Shore Diversity Catalog, a regional-vendor registry for minority- and women-owned businesses (MWBE).

This year’s catalog includes 249 MWBE across the North Shore, which is nearly double the 138 businesses included in the first publication last May.

“This is an important regional initiative to highlight diverse small businesses,” said Lynn Mayor Jared Nicholson. “We should be working to make sure that what we do as a city reflects the diversity of our community, and that includes procurement. We have been working on our procurement process to make it more equitable, and this is helpful with that. Collaboration on a regional scale supports our efforts in that work.”

The Diversity Catalog assists communities in improving equity and diversity in municipal contracts and bids, while also providing residents and other businesses with a catalog of MWBE that they can support.

“I am very excited to continue this effort and share the 2022 North Shore Diversity Catalog, said Salem Mayor Kimberley Driscoll. “This directory is not only a mechanism for regional municipalities as they strive to diversify their procurement efforts, it is also a marketing tool for our local businesses and a resource for those who wish to support our diverse small-business community.”
