The MIAA released its final power rankings for the regular season late Thursday night, and the St. John’s Prep hockey team found itself in a familiar position at the very top of the Division 1 rankings.

The Prep leads the way in Division 1 in the No. 1 spot, finishing the season with a 17-3-0 record. Head coach Kristian Hanson and the Eagles will look to continue their reign over the division as the state tournament nears.

Not too far behind, taking the No. 15 slot in Division 1, St. Mary’s finished with a record of 10-7-5. The Cardinal Classic champions aren’t going to settle until they’re able to prove themselves and dethrone the teams above them. A bit further down the list at No. 27 is Bishop Fenwick. The Crusaders come in with a record of 7-9-4. Rounding out the list of Division 1 teams is the Lynn Jets, who come in at No. 49 after finishing the season at 3-17-0.

Division 3 sees Lynnfield High School coming in at No. 4 overall, a spot it has held for a number of weeks now. With a final record of 16-3-1 and led by head coach Jon Gardner, Lynnfield looks to make a deep run in the upcoming state tournament.

Over in Division 2, Marblehead comes in at No. 16 after finishing with a 8-9-2 record and will look to remain hot as it heads into the state tournament.

After a pair of big wins down the stretch, Winthrop comes in at No. 5 in Division 4 with a 10-9-1 record. The Vikings have the ability to make some noise in the tournament, and they will look to do so. Falling to the No. 27 spot in the power rankings is Saugus. The Sachems finished the season with a 7-12-1 record, and they currently sit on the bubble in terms of qualifying for a tournament spot. Further down the list, Swampscott finished the season at No. 41 following a 3-16-1 this season.

The MIAA power rankings will now be used to seed the upcoming state basketball tournament, the first one to feature the new statewide format. The brackets are scheduled to be released Saturday.
