The Lynn English boys basketball team wasn’t going to see its season ended on the first night of the Division 1 state tournament, and the No. 33 Bulldogs made sure of that with a 67-53 win on the road at No. 32 Woburn Tuesday night.

As has been the case for much of the season, Tyrese Melo Garcia led the offensive attack for the Bulldogs. Garcia notched 30 points, 10 assists and five rebounds, while Josh Anderson (12 rebounds) and Nelson Obarisiagbon (10 rebounds) both were solid on the glass.

English (14-7) will now take on undefeated No. 1 BC High in the Round of 32 Friday (6:30).
