SWAMPSCOTT — The Swampscott Police Association presented longtime Town Clerk Susan Duplin, who will be leaving her position this month, with a plaque recognizing her contributions to the organization on Wednesday.

Duplin, who will soon become the town clerk in North Reading, has been working as the clerk at Swampscott Town Hall for 14 years.

During this time, Duplin has helped the Swampscott Police Association (SPA) with a number of its initiatives, including its annual holiday parade, which benefits Toys for Local Children (TLC), SPA President Ted Delano said.

“You couldn’t ask for a nicer person at Town Hall,” said Delano. “Sue’s just an all-around true professional and a great loss to the community.”
