In sports, winning any kind of award is one of the highest possible honors, but having multiple people from the same team take home awards is something even more special.
The Winthrop girls hockey team dominated the Northeastern Conference awards this week, as head coach Anthony Martucci and goalie Summer Tallent both brought home prestigious awards. Martucci took home the coveted Coach of the Year award, while Tallent was crowned co-MVP alongside Jamie DuPont from Beverly. Tallent had a massive regular season for the 17-0-1 Vikings, setting program records for career wins and career shutouts in the process.
