LYNN — Union Cafe celebrates its one-year anniversary on Monday and owner Charbel Wehbe said business has been fantastic.
“I want to say thank you to the whole community and each customer that supports my business from day one,” Wehbe said. “I also want to thank my fiancé, Sulma, who has always been there for me.”
Located at 1 Central Square, Union Cafe offers customers hot and iced coffee, hot sandwiches and a variety of pastries. The mission statement of the café is to provide a local alternative to large corporate coffee chains. Wehbe said he is planning on expanding the menu in the coming months.
“We are going to be offering more hot-sandwich options and full breakfast such as pancakes and omelets,” he said. “My customers recommended it to me and we are going to try it.”
In the summer, Union Cafe plans to do European-style outdoor dining and add an awning to its entrance.
“What sets us apart from the rest of the competition is discipline and consistency,” Wehbe said.
