The inaugural Doug Mullins Memorial Baseball Tournament will be held from May 27-28 at Fraser Field and will honor former Lynn English High School baseball coach Doug Mullins, who lost a courageous battle to Osteosarcoma in October 2020 at the age of 34.
The varsity baseball teams from Lynn English, Lynn Classical, Swampscott and St. Mary’s will compete in this annual Memorial Day weekend tournament. The goal of the tournament is to award an annual scholarship to a deserving student-athlete from each team and to continue to honor the memory of Mullins.
Mullins was a passionate and selfless coach who made a positive impact on the many student-athletes he coached at various local high schools and through American Legion baseball. In order to carry on Mullins’ efforts of supporting local student-athletes, the tournament committee is graciously asking for the support of generous individuals and businesses in the community.
The tournament committee is asking those interested to consider providing a donation to this nonprofit organization and your support is critical to achieving its goals. The Doug Mullins Memorial Baseball Tournament is a registered nonprofit organization.
In advance of the tournament, there will be a kickoff fundraiser located at Tony’s Pub on Franklin Street in Lynn on April 9 from 2-6 p.m.
