Catholic Central League unveils boys, girls hockey all-stars

The Catholic Central League hockey all-stars were revealed this week, with Austin Prep taking home the MVP awards for both girls and boys. Anthony Beaulieu was MVP for the boys, while Lauryn Hanafin and Maeve Carey were the co-MVPs for the girls.

However, both the St. Mary’s boys and girls teams had three players each earn all-star recognition. 

On the boys side, senior and Nahant native Jake Desmarais had eight goals and 14 assists on the season, while senior and Saugus native Eric Toto had five goals and 10 assists and junior Brady Bullock of Lynn had 13 goals and eight assists. 

For the girls, Maggie Pierce finished the season with 11 goals and 18 assists, Jenna Chaplain from Peabody had 13 goals and 15 assists, and Kasey Litwin had eight assists.

Bishop Fenwick also had three boys earn all-star honors. Senior Mark Wilson had five goals and six assists, junior Manny Alvarez-Segee had nine goals and nine assists and junior Max Vieria had eight goals and six assists. 

The lone player on the girls side from Fenwick to be named an all-star was senior Lauren Diranian, who finished the year with 17 goals and 13 assists. 

The remainder of the all-stars for the boys consisted of: Luke Ramsay, Myles Galluzzo and Brady O’Connor (Arlington Catholic); Thomas Franzosa (Bishop Feehan); Jackson Sylvester and Matt Deminico (Archbishop Williams); Drew Thibideau, Jacob Duval, Robby McDonald and Beaulieu (Austin Prep).

The remainder of the all-stars for the girls consisted of: Kathryn Karo, Isabel Hulse, McKenzie Cerrato, Carey and Hanafin (Austin Prep); Grace Mottau and Karaline O’Toole (Archbishop Williams); Caitlyn Kelley and Grace Nelson (Bishop Feehan); Mikayla Brightman (Bishop Stang); Brynn McPherson and Gianna McCusker (Matignon); Emily Moran (Arlington Catholic); and Abigail Ryan (St. Joseph’s Prep).
