SAUGUS — A 16-year-old teenager was stabbed multiple times in Saugus on Thursday afternoon, police said.
According to the Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli, the department received a 911 call from a business in Saugus Center at approximately 3:54 p.m. The caller reported that someone came into their business because there was a stabbing nearby.
Officers who responded to the call located a 16-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was treated at the scene and transported to a local trauma center, police said.
An initial investigation revealed that the victim was stabbed in the vicinity of Raddin Terrace, Ricciardelli said. Saugus Police do not believe that the incident was a random act of violence.
The incident is under investigation by Saugus Police and State Police detectives assigned to the Essex District Attorney’s office.
