The MIAA and the Boston Bruins have informed Lynnfield native and Malden Catholic senior hockey player Nick Julian that he has been selected by his league — the Catholic Conference — to receive the 2022 Boston Bruins-MIAA Sportsmanship Award.
This award is presented annually by the Boston Bruins and the MIAA to one individual from each high school ice-hockey league in the state who best exemplifies the highest standards of fair play and sportsmanship.
Julian was a senior captain on a Lancers team that went 11-9-0 and took a trip to the Division 1 tournament Round of 16 this year. The forward had a solid season on the offensive end this year, as he finished the season as one of the team’s point leaders with seven goals and five assists for a total of 12 points. He was also named a Catholic Conference All-Star for his play this winter.
For winning the award, Julian will receive two tickets to the March 31 Bruins game against the New Jersey Devils and will be honored during one of the intermissions of that game.
