Sullivan Tire hosting sock drives for homeless

Allysha Dunnigan

March 31, 2022 by Allysha Dunnigan

From now until May 1, Sullivan Tire is hosting a sock drive to help those experiencing homelessness stay warm.

The company asks that donated socks be new, but can be of any color, style or size from infants to adults.

“Sock Boxes” are located at more than 100 Sullivan Tire auto-service and commercial-truck centers, and at wholesale locations throughout the New England region. These boxes will collect donations from anyone who wishes to participate.

In Peabody, there are Sullivan Tire locations at 231 Andover St., Route 114 and 175 Washington St.; in Lynn at 637 Lynnway; and in Saugus at 829 Broadway.

“Since our founding in 1955, Sullivan Tire has made a commitment to giving back to the less fortunate in the communities we serve and beyond,” said Sullivan Tire and Auto Service Vice President of Marketing Paul Sullivan. “In this, our 67th year of business, we are thrilled to continue these efforts with this sock-drive initiative.”

Sullivan Tire’s goal is to collect 300,000 pairs of socks across all locations and divisions to donate to homeless shelters serving the communities where Sullivan Tire stores are located.

“Sullivan Tire values making a difference in the communities that they serve,” a Sullivan Tire representative added. “Socks are one of the most-requested items from individuals and families experiencing homelessness, yet they are the least donated for those in need.”
