The Bishop Fenwick softball team moved its record back to the .500 mark Wednesday afternoon, picking up an 8-0 shutout win over Bishop Stang in a Catholic Central League bout on the road.
Gigi Aupont tossed a complete-game shutout in the circle for the Crusaders, allowing just three hits while striking out 10.
On the offensive end, Mia Mercurio and Arianna Costello each recorded two hits and two RBI to lead the way.
Bishop Fenwick (2-2) is now off until April 21 against Whittier Tech.
SOFTBALL
St. Mary’s 4, Bishop Feehan 2
Lily Newhall was once again the star for the Spartans in a battle of top-ranked teams in the state, as she struck out 12 batters in the circle and helped her own cause with a triple and two RBI at the plate.
Emely Rodriguez also added one RBI in the win.
St. Mary’s (5-0) will now take a trip down to Myrtle Beach for a series of games over April vacation, starting with a game Wednesday (9) against Moore Catholic (N.Y.).
Lynn Classical 15, Malden 2 (F/6)
Reese Brinkler paced the offense for the Rams, going 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI. Izzy Faessler went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI and three runs scored, while Rachel Dana and Lauren Wilson each had a double and one RBI. Neveah Eth went 2-for-4 with a triple and one RBI, while MeKayla Poisson tossed six innings and allowed two runs (no earned runs) on five hits with four strikeouts.

Beverly 16, Swampscott 4 (F/6)
Behind 10 runs in the fourth inning, the Panthers were able to pull away for the victory.
Jamie Dupont and Jazmine Sullivan each had a home run and three RBI in the win, while Lindsey Gannon and Emily Stillwell each had one RBI. Brooke Davies earned her first career varsity hit for the Panthers, while Noelle McLane earned the win in the circle after striking out seven batters.
Beverly (2-0) is right back in action Thursday (4:30) against Peabody.
Jocelyn Spickard played well in the loss for the Big Blue, going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
Swampscott (2-1) hosts Salem Thursday (4:30).
Gloucester 12, Saugus 0 (F/5)
Felicia Reppucci picked up the lone hit in the loss for the Sachems, while freshman Taylor Deleidi made a few nice catches in left field.

Bishop Feehan 2, St. Mary’s 1
Despite pitching a great game and striking out 13 batters, Spartans senior ace Aiven Cabral picked up the first loss of his career in Wednesday’s road loss.
Jason Donohue picked up the lone hit for the Spartans.
St. Mary’s (3-2) will now take a trip down to Myrtle Beach for a series of games over April vacation, starting with a doubleheader Wednesday against Ocean Township (N.J.) (12) and Marion (S.C.) (6).
Beverly 5, Peabody 0
The Tanners simply couldn’t get anything going against Beverly pitcher Noah Guanci, who pitched a complete-game shutout with 12 strikeouts.

Revere 26, Chelsea 2 (F/3)
Giancarlo Miro went 3-for-4 with two triples and six RBI in the win, while Chris Cecca went 4-for-4 with two doubles and five RBI. Juan Londono went 1-for-3 with a double and four RBI, while Mikey Popp (three RBI), Brendan Sack (two RBI) and Bobby O’Brien (two RBI) all contributed to the offense.

Winthrop 9, Saugus 4
Ryan Gagnon went 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead the way, while Cam Martin went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Pete Silverman (1-for-3), Colin Kinsella (2-for-2) and Anthony Indrisano (1-for-4) each had one RBI.
Martin earned the win on the mound after he struck out six batters in three innings of relief, while Zach Bogusz got the start and tossed four innings, allowing four runs on three hits with four strikeouts.

Lynn Classical 9, Malden 3
Almani Medina (2-for-3, two RBI, two runs scored), Tyler Wilson (1-for-3, triple, two RBI, two runs scored) and Juniel Guzman (2-for-3, two RBI, run scored) led the offensive attack for Classical. On the mound, Kyle Durant earned the win after throwing six innings and allowing no earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts.

After giving up the lead in the bottom of the sixth, the Bulldogs rallied back with two runs in the top of the seventh before holding on to win.
Chris Figuero Perez went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI to pace the offense in the win, while Eldrian Bonilla went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Brendan Falasca went 2-for-4 and added one RBI in the victory.

Anthony Marino pitched a stellar game in the loss, going seven innings and allowing no runs on just one hit with 13 strikeouts.
Chris Faraca had two hits for the Crusaders, while Gianni Mercurio had a triple and Nick Villano had a double. Marino and Costa Beechin each added a hit in the loss.
Bishop Fenwick (0-5) is right back in action Thursday (4) with a home game against Pentucket.
GIRLS LACROSSE

Gabbi Oakes and Kasey Litwin each scored a goal in the loss for the Spartans, while goalie Payton Quirk made 11 saves.
St. Mary’s (1-4) is now off until April 22, when it will take on Archbishop Williams.

The Pioneers got singles wins from Paige Martino (6-1, 6-1), Anna Radulski (6-1, 6-1) and Genna Gioioso (6-0, 6-0). In doubles play, the team of Lauren Grava and Maddie Sieve won 6-0, 6-1 and the team of Sarah Breslow and Leticia Marafon won 6-2, 6-2.
Lynnfield (4-0) is now off until April 26, when it goes up against Newburyport.
Marblehead 5, Peabody 0
Both doubles teams for the Magicians made their debuts on Wednesday and both took home victories. The team of Leah Schauer and Aviva Bornstein won at first doubles (6-1, 6-1), while the team of Stella Monaco and Camilla Eagan won at second doubles (6-2, 6-1).
In singles play, Marblehead got wins from Alessandra Staffialini (6-4, 6-0), Maddie Conlon (6-1, 6-2) and Charly Cooper (6-0, 6-0).
Marblehead (2-1) turns right around and faces Danvers Thursday (4).

Winners for the Rams were Kenzie McLaren at first singles (3-6, 6-3, 6-3) and Alyssa Raithel at second singles (6-1, 4-6, 6-3).

The Big Blue got wins from Veronika Isagulyan (6-1, 6-1) and Clara Power (6-4, 6-2) in singles play and the team of Anastasia Shub and Franci Southan (6-4, 6-0) and the team of Anna Ratner and Laine Foutes (6-0, 6-0) in doubles play.
