The Lynn Classical softball team took the latest chapter in the long rivalry with cross-town foe Lynn English Monday morning, picking up a 13-1 victory in six innings at Breed Middle School.
Gianna Coito went 2-for-2 with two RBI in the win, while Izzy Faessler and Manuela Lizardo each had two RBI as well. Emily Tineo had a double, two RBI and one run scored, while MeKayla Poisson had two hits, one RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases.
Poisson also picked up the win in the circle, tossing six innings and allowing one run on two hits with 11 strikeouts.
Lynn Classical (4-2) hosts Somerville Wednesday afternoon (4).
Janessa Lopez led the offensive attack for English in the loss, going 1-for-3 with a triple and one RBI. Kate Johansson added a single, a walk and a run scored.

SOFTBALL
Saugus 12, Stoneham 0 (F/5)
The star of the day for the Sachems was freshman Taylor Deleidi, who notched a five-inning no-hitter in her first career varsity start. Deleidi struck out 13 in the victory, and she also had two hits and two RBI at the plate.
Paige Hogan notched her first career RBI and finished with three on the day, while Bella Natalucci (2-for-3, RBI) and Abby Enwright (1-for-2) also had their first career hits and RBI in the win.
Saugus (2-3) is back in action Thursday morning (10) at home against Somerville.
Austin Prep 4, Lynnfield 1
The Pioneers were only able to scrape together three hits, with Lauren Amico leading the way with a double and a run scored.
Lynnfield (2-3) travels to Pentucket Wednesday (2).
BASEBALL
Peabody 2, Danvers 0
Justin Powers picked up a one-hit shutout victory on the mound for the Tanners, striking out nine in the victory.
Joe Raymond went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI to pace the offense, while Scott Hurley (2-for-3), Giovanni Guglielmo (1-for-3), Jacob Palhares (1-for-3) and Sam Oliveri (1-for-1) all had hits for the Tanners.
Peabody (4-1) hosts Winthrop Wednesday morning (10).
The lone hit for the Falcons came from Micahel Moroney (1-for-2), who also pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed two runs on six hits with four strikeouts.
Danvers (4-2) travels to Masconomet Wednesday (12).
Revere 3, Malden 2
Giancarlo Miro went 1-for-3 with two RBI to lead the Patriots’ offense, while Brendan Sack and Ollie Svendson each had a hit.
Dom Boudreau had a big day on the mound in the win, tossing a complete game and allowing two runs on three hits with 12 strikeouts.
Revere (5-1) hosts Everett Wednesday (10).
Gloucester 6, Marblehead 3
Liam McIlroy went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI in the losing effort, while Schuyler Schmitt went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Craig Michalowski (1-for-3) also had a hit in the loss.
Marblehead (1-5) hosts Salem Wednesday (4).
Boston English 9, Winthrop 6
Colin Kinsella went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI to lead the way, while Joe Ferullo went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Phil Boncore went 2-for-3 in the win, while Cam Martin (1-for-4, triple), Pete Silverman (1-for-4) and Chris Gibbons (1-for-2) all had hits.
Winthrop (4-2) plays on the road at Peabody Wednesday (10).
GIRLS LACROSSE
Masconomet 14, Peabody 13
The Tanners mounted a valiant comeback after trailing 10-4 at halftime, but they eventually ran out of time in a close Northeastern Conference bout.
Madi Barrett led the way for Peabody with five goals and three assists, while Brooke Lomasney had four goals and two assists. McKayla Fisher and Ally Bettencourt each had one goal and two assists.
Peabody (2-2) plays on the road at Salem Thursday (4).
Hamilton-Wenham 16, Bishop Fenwick 10
Sam Montecalvo and Kyle Bloom each scored three goals in the loss for the Crusaders, while Eve Watson had one interception and four ground balls. Goalie Sedona Lawson made five saves in net.
Bishop Fenwick (3-2) hosts Matignon Friday (4).
BOYS TENNIS
Marblehead 3, Hamilton-Wenham 2
Two singles wins and then a win in doubles gave the Magicians the victory Monday.
Singles wins came from Mika Garber (6-0, 6-0) and Matthew Sherf (6-1, 6-4), while the doubles win came from the team of Etan Farfel and Jayden Janock (6-0, 6-0).
Marblehead (4-1) hosts BC High Wednesday morning (10).
