LYNN — The Halloran family of Lynn will host the 13th Comedy Night to Benefit NLG (Nashoba Learning Group), a school and adult program for individuals with autism.

Martha Halloran is a graduate of the school program and a participant in the adult program at NLG, which has locations in Bedford and Billerica.

The benefit will be held Wednesday, June 1 at 6 p.m. at Prince Restaurant in Saugus. The co-headliners are Boston comedy legends Don Gavin and Lenny Clarke, who will be joined by several other top comedians.

“Martha has had a wonderful experience at NLG, first in the school program and now in the adult program,” said Paul Halloran, her father. “Julie and I want to do everything we can to support this phenomenal place that provides such critical services for kids and adults with autism.”

Halloran said the fundraising goal for the comedy night this year is $15,000 — the approximate gap between what it costs NLG to provide services for an adult program participant and the reimbursement it receives from the state.

“It’s different from the school program in that the school receives tuition that covers the cost to educate each student, but the adult program requires significant fundraising to close that gap,” he said.

NLG was founded in 2002 by Liz Martineau, who remains president, to offer a different life trajectory for individuals with autism. NLG’s school provides outstanding, individualized education, training and intervention services for students aged 3-22 with autism spectrum disorders. NLG’s rapidly growing adult program opened in 2013, providing ongoing support to adults with autism.  NLG currently serves approximately 130 students and 40 adults.

Tickets for the comedy night are $50 and include all-you-can-eat pizza. There will also be a raffle and auction.

Tickets can be obtained by contacting Halloran at [email protected] or 617-872-0384.
