Aspire in Lynn hosting annual golf classic fundraiser

LYNN — Aspire Developmental Services is hosting its fourth annual Golf Classic on Monday, May 23, at Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead at 8:30 a.m.

Proceeds from this event will support Aspire Developmental Services‘ mission to promote positive developmental outcomes for infants and toddlers across the North Shore who have, or are at risk of having, developmental delays due to established biological or environmental factors.

Funds will also be used for a range of educational programs and community support services for the families of these children.

“Over the past two years, the demand for our services has increased significantly,” said Executive Director of Aspire Developmental Services Lori Russell. “This at a time when the availability of such programs has been limited due to the pandemic and related health concerns. Many comparable programs have reduced their capacity or even discontinued services entirely.”

Aspire has expanded its family-centered services by 20 percent in the past year and has broadened its home-based therapeutic programs, added space in its early-education center in Lynn, and strengthened its network of community-based support services all since the start of the pandemic.

James Healey, senior vice president of commercial banking at Eastern Bank — one of the Golf Classic sponsors — said he feels privileged to be a part of this event.

“The value of the work that Aspire does to support, educate and empower families across the North Shore is incalculable,” Healey said. “Helping children to reach their full potential strengthens the entire community, which is in perfect alignment with our mission at Eastern Bank.”

Aspire Developmental Services has been providing family-centered early intervention, education and support services on the North Shore for more than 70 years.

Based in Lynn, the organization also serves Danvers, Lynnfield, Marblehead, Middleton, Nahant, Peabody, Salem, Saugus and Swampscott.

Registration for the golf classic is now open and all skill levels are welcome.
