To the editor:
Swampscott residents are disappointed that our Housing Authority Board selected Charles Patsios to join its body as an interim member without due process and transparency.
I also spoke to various people who live in Swampscott public housing and they felt the same. The Housing Authority Board needs someone who is solely there for the people, not the pocket. For this reason, I pulled papers to run for the open seat.
When I met Sean Regan, I determined he was best qualified for the position and decided to withdraw my candidacy. He is well respected in the Swampscott community.
His father grew up in public housing and Mr. Regan understands the needs of the residents in public housing.
Mr. Regan has worked closely with public housing residents during his service to the City of Boston. He has extensive experience in both public service as well as the governance of public boards.
In short, Mr. Regan has what it takes to get the job done.
On Tuesday, April 26, I encourage all Swampscott residents to join me and vote for Sean Regan for Swampscott Housing Authority.
