It was a banner day for Salem native and Bishop Fenwick sophomore Gigi Aupont, as the ace pitcher threw a no-hitter to help her Crusaders earn a 2-0 victory over Whittier Tech Thursday afternoon at Bishop Fenwick High School.
Aupont struck out 17 batters in the performance, only walking two in the process.
On the offensive end, Meg Birkinshaw notched one RBI on a bunt single to help give the Crusaders the win.
Bishop Fenwick (3-2) plays on the road at Rockport Saturday (10).
SOFTBALL
Saugus 6, Somerville 1
Fallon Millerick pitched a complete game and allowed one run on four hits with three strikeouts in the win, while she also went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Gianna Costa led the offense by going 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Ryann Moloney, Felicia Reppucci and Ava Rogers each had one RBI.
Saugus (3-3) is right back in action Friday (10) against Beverly.
BASEBALL
Triton 4, Lynnfield 1
The Pioneers were only able to scatter two hits in the home loss Thursday.
Lynnfield (1-4) hosts Malden Catholic Saturday morning (11).
BOYS LACROSSE
St. John’s Prep 15, Lexington 6
Jake Vana had four goals and one assist to lead the offense, while Jimmy Ayers had two goals and one assist. Lucas Verrier and Harlan Graber each scored two goals, while Rowan Mondello and Chris Esposito each had one goal and one assist. Luca Winter, Will Sawyer and Charlie Wilmot each scored one goal, while Jack Weissenburger, Nick Schibli and Adam Callum all played well defensively. Goalie Teddy Cullinane made three saves in the win.
St. John’s Prep (6-2) will play in the Creators Crosse championship game Saturday evening (6:30) against Franklin.
Beverly 9, Swampscott 7
Despite battling back from a 7-1 deficit, the Big Blue couldn’t quite come all the way back to earn the win.
Jason Codispoti led the way with three goals, while Jack Russo had two goals and one assist. Liam Keaney and Harrison Kinne each had one goal, while Christian Urbano had one assist. Goalie Aidan Breault made nine saves and also added one assist in the loss.
Swampscott (2-4) travels to Masconomet Monday (4).
Marblehead 9, Danvers 7
Marblehead (4-2) hosts Peabody Saturday morning (10).

Danvers 12, Marblehead 3
Hadley Wales, Lucy Wales and Gigi Lombardi each scored one goal, while Molly Cronin had one assist. Goalie Kate Santeusanio notched 21 saves in the loss.

Peabody 12, Salem 3
The Tanners got two goals each from Madi Barrett, Emily McDonough and Kayla Landry in the victory. Siobhan Smith, McKayla Fisher, Brooke Lomasney, Katie Amico and Ally Bettencourt each scored one goal, while Laureen Leggett and Caitlin Snow split time in net to earn the win.
Peabody (3-2) hosts Marblehead Saturday (11).
Salem (2-3) travels to Swampscott Tuesday (4).

Mia Martucci scored two goals in the win for the Vikings, while Emma Holmes notched one goal.

The Rams got wins from Wilson Lieu (6-0, 6-0), Sami Motassim (6-0, 6-1) and Jimmy Phan (6-0, 6-0) in singles play, while the team of Marcus Ryan and Jaeel Beato also grabbed a win (6-0, 6-3).
Lynn Classical (2-4) travels to Revere Wednesday (4).
The Bulldogs picked up a doubles win from the team of Ethan Chilel and Jordan Alas (6-3, 1-6, 7-6).
Lynn English (2-2) travels to Malden Monday (4).

The Prep defended its home court with a sweep of doubles play to go along with a pair of singles wins.
The Eagles got singles wins from Charles Kirby (6-0, 6-1) and Alex Melville (6-2, 6-0), while the doubles teams of Luke Prokopis-Jake Prokopis (6-0, 6-0) and Rohan Rasingani-Grant Drinkwater (6-0, 6-1) also grabbed wins.
St. John’s Prep (3-0) hosts BC High Monday afternoon (4).
The lone winner for Marblehead on the day was first singles player Mika Garber, who continued his strong season with a 6-1, 6-4 win.
