A pair of Peabody natives and former St. Mary’s baseball stars have been honored for the impact they’ve been making at the next level, as Endicott College’s John Mulready and Johnson & Wales’ EJ Leone were named to their respective all-conference teams this week.

Mulready was a First-Team All-Commonwealth Coast Conference selection, while Leone was a Second-Team All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference pick.

Mulready, a sophomore catcher, has slashed at a .357/.380/.732 clip for the Gulls in 32 games (29 starts, all at catcher). His stat line also includes 25 runs, 40 hits (9 doubles, 11 home runs), 28 RBI, six walks and two stolen bases on as many attempts. Mulready is fourth on the Gulls in multi-hit (7-2, 4-3, 1-4) and multi-RBI games (5-2, 2-3, 2-4). Behind the plate, Mulready has thrown out seven runners, logged 245 putouts and 19 assists, and features a .992 fielding percentage on 266 total chances.

This is Mulready’s first career All-CCC First Team award.

Leone, also a sophomore, finished the season with a .324 batting average, a .447 on base percentage and a .510 slugging percentage. The outfielder had 47 hits, six home runs, 40 RBI and 42 runs scored to go along with eight stolen bases.
