LYNN — Two city men charged with the murder of a Salem man in April were ordered and held without bail following their arrests on Wednesday.
Alan Bernadin, 19, of 111 Chestnut St., and Nathaniel Mercedat, 19, also of Chestnut Street, were arrested on murder warrants midday on Wednesday. They were arraigned in Lynn District Court.
Lynn police responded to the area behind English High School at 12:50 a.m. on April 9 to reports of shots fired and found a 20-year-old male with gunshot wounds later identified as Brian Gomez of Salem.
Gomez was transported to Salem Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An organizer of a GoFundMe page set up to help Gomez’ family pay for his funeral described him as an aspiring musician who had planned to perform in front of New York music representatives on April 11.
