The Swampscott girls lacrosse team got a step closer to a state tournament berth Tuesday afternoon, notching a 13-2 victory over Winthrop to earn its ninth win of the season.
Broghan Laundry once again led the offensive attack with four goals, while Coco Clopton had three goals and one assist and Abby Eichler was close behind with three goals. Scarlett Ciciotti had two goals and two assists, while Brooke Waters notched one goal and three assists. Sophia Ciciotti contributed two assists, while goalie Sasha Divall made 10 saves to earn the win in net.
Swampscott (9-3) travels to Marblehead Thursday (5:30).
Winthrop (5-9) hosts Danvers Thursday (4).
BOYS LACROSSE
Swampscott 21, Salem 0
Liam Keaney led the way with four goals and two assists for the Big Blue, while Jason Codispoti had four goals and one assist. Aidan Sprague had three goals and one assist, while Christian Urbano and Jack Hazell each scored two goals. John Stanchfield had one goal and one assist, while Drew Hausse, Mike Erickson, Harrison Kinne and Aidan Breault each scored one goal. Zach Pierce and Sam Brodsky each had one assist, while goalies Joey Pilotte (four saves) and Timmy Sheehan (three saves) combined for the win in net.
Swampscott (8-7) hosts Marblehead Thursday (4).
St. John’s Prep 18, Catholic Memorial 5
Will Sawyer (four goals) and Jimmy Ayers (three goals, two assists) led the offense for the Eagles, while Lucas Verrier, Noah Brown and Charlie Wilmot each scored two goals. Tommy Sarni added one goal and one assist, while AJ Mazziarello, Deuce Morton, Jack Doherty and Nate Jones each scored one goal. Nick Bernarducci added one assist in the win, while Chris Esposito won 6-of-9 faceoffs. Goalies Teddy Cullinane (six saves) and Gavin Kornitsky (four saves) combined for the win in net.
St. John’s Prep (13-2) hosts Andover Monday (5:30) for Senior Day.

Catholic Memorial 20, St. John’s Prep 5 (F/5)
The Eagles’ bats simply couldn’t keep up with the red-hot offense of Catholic Memorial on the road.
Payton Palladino (1-for-2) and Nick Solitro (1-for-3) each had a home run and two RBI in the losing effort for the Prep, while Drew McGowan went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Kyle Webster went 2-for-2 with a double, while Tucker Larson (2-for-3), Carson Browne (1-for-1) and Christian Rosa (1-for-1) also had hits.
St. John’s Prep (8-7) is right back in action Wednesday (4) against Malden Catholic.

Lynnfield (6-10) travels to Manchester-Essex Thursday (3:45).

The Magicians swept doubles play in the loss, getting wins from the team of Jack Donovan and Dwight Foster (6-1, 7-5) and the team of Etan Farfel and Jayden Janock (6-1, 7-6 (7-1)).

The lone winner on the day for the Rams was Sammi Motassim, who won his singles match 6-2, 6-4.

Avery Kobe was a double-winner for the Rams, taking first in the long jump (17-10) and the 400 hurdles (1:58.7). Other winners for Classical were John Nasky in the triple jump (35-11), Peter Jean in the javelin (109-5), Kymani Phipps in the 110 hurdles (18.3), Jieren Mireles in the 200 (25.0), Ryan Doll in the 400 (59.5), Yahir Viveros in the 800 (2:29.7) and Kevin Baker in the two-mile (12:10).
Stephen Srey won both the shot put (44-1 3/4) and the discus (99-5) for English, while the Bulldogs also got wins from Nelson Obarisiagbon in the high jump (5-0), Ernest Panias in the 100 (12.0) and Eamonn McHale in the one-mile (5:26).

The Bulldogs got wins from Andrea Coronado in the high jump (4-2), Cynaya Jackson in the shot put (28-2), Abby Kivagheni in the discus (59-8), Sanaia Alleyne in the javelin (65-1), Zainab Lawal in the 100 hurdles (21.5), Kendra Malcolm in the 100 (12.9), Aida Bellal in the 400 (1:46.8) and Alicia Ramirez in the two-mile (15:29.1).
Mia Kebreau was a triple-winner for the Rams, winning the long jump (14-2), the triple jump (29-11) and the 800 (2:52.3). Other winners for Classical were Karol Santana in the 400 hurdles (2:05.7), Talia Parker in the 200 (29.9) and Olivia Waterman in the one-mile (6:38.9).
