The Lynnfield boys lacrosse team is staying hot as it approaches state tournament time, as the Pioneers notched a 16-3 win over Medford in a non-conference game at Pioneer Stadium Monday afternoon.
Drew Damiani led the Pioneers with six goals on the day, while Will Steadman had a massive day with three goals and seven assists. Jack Calichman added two goals and six assists, while Will Norton notched four goals. Janssen Sperling had one goal and two assists, while Kelan Cardinal had one assist. Goalie Ben Pimentel made six saves to earn the win in net.
Lynnfield (12-4) is right back in action Tuesday (3:45) against Gloucester.
BOYS LACROSSE
St. John’s Prep 17, Andover 3
The Eagles scored 10 first-half goals en route to the blowout victory.
Tommy Sarni led the offensive attack with three goals and three assists, while Jimmy Ayers notched three goals. Jake Vana and Noah Brown each scored two goals, while Luke Kelly and Charlie Wilmot each had one goal and one assist. Matt Morrow, Will Sawyer, Lucas Verrier, Oliver Roselli and Jack Doherty each scored one goal, while goalie Teddy Cullinane (seven saves) and Gavin Kornitsky (two saves) combined for the win in net.
St. John’s Prep (14-2) hosts Malden Catholic Tuesday (4).
Newburyport 10, Marblehead 8
Charlie Grenier led the way for Marblehead with three goals, while Josh Robertson added two goals and Connor Cronin had one goal and three assists. Carter Laramie and Baxter Jennings each scored one goal in the loss.
Marblehead (12-3) hosts Lexington Wednesday (4).
Manchester-Essex 5, Peabody 4 (OT)
Trotman Smith scored two goals in the loss, while Cam Collins and Matthew Bettencourt each had one goal and one assist. Danny Barrett added one assist, while goalie Derek Patturelli made 15 saves.
Peabody closes out the regular season at 9-7.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Swampscott 18, Hamilton-Wenham 14
The Big Blue celebrated Senior Day in style by notching a come-from-behind victory.
Abby Eichler led the way with five goals and four assists, while Broghan Laundry had four goals and three assists. Scarlett Ciciotti was close behind with four goals and one assist, while Brooke Waters had three goals and one assist. Coco Clopton had two goals and three assists, while Sophia Ciciotti had three assists. Goalie Sasha Divall made five saves to earn the win in net.
Swampscott (10-4) hosts Pentucket Wednesday (4).
Triton 19, St. Mary’s 10
Hannah Coleman led the offensive attack with four goals, while Kasey Litwin added three goals. Avery Laundry scored two goals, Ava Nason scored one goal and Gabbi Oakes notched four assists. Molly Cummings had one assist, while goalie Payton Quirk made 12 saves.
St. Mary’s (6-12-1) wraps up the season Tuesday (7) against Matignon.
BASEBALL
Reading 12, Lynn Classical 3
Brady Warren went 2-for-3 with one RBI to lead the way, while Almani Medina, Kevin Whalen and Kyle Durant each had one RBI. Juniel Guzman went 2-for-4, while Darnell Leon and Christian Figueroa each had one hit.
Durant pitched four innings and earned the loss on the mound, while Whalen pitched two innings of relief.
Lynn Classical (14-4) will play against St. Mary’s in the opening round of the Doug Mullins Memorial Tournament Friday (4).

The Vikings were only able to scatter three hits, with Colin Kinsella (1-for-2), Joe Ferullo (1-for-2) and Joe Hayes (1-for-3) each notching one.
Winthrop (8-11) closes out the season Thursday (4) against Chelsea.

Peabody 9, Masconomet 3
Isabel Bettencourt had a massive game at the plate, notching a home run, a double and four RBI to lead the way for the Tanners. Emma Bloom had three hits and one RBI, while Penny Spack and Paige Ritchie each had one RBI.
Avery Grieco earned the win in the circle after a complete-game effort.
Peabody (15-1) is right back in action Tuesday (4) against Swampscott.
