LYNN – The city is searching for people interested in serving on the Water and Sewer Commission. The deadline to apply is June 25. The commission is tasked with governing Lynn Water and Sewer Services and also oversees stormwater infrastructure to manage flooding and runoff.
The positions open for hire are water and wastewater operator, technician, laborer, and civil and environmental engineer. The applicants with knowledge and the background related to administration, business, wastewater treatment, stormwater infrastructure, finance, and accounting are encouraged to apply.
The body is responsible for protecting the public health and environment of Lynn through providing clean, safe, and quality drinking water and ensuring cleaner treatment of the ocean in regards to Lynn’s wastewater.
The body meets regularly throughout the year for meetings, and any applicant should be able to commit to 8 to 12 meetings a year. Lack of participation will qualify as grounds for removal from the board.
