LYNN — Mayor Jared Nicholson tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss this week’s high school graduations.
Nicholson tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday morning, according to Valerie Vong, the mayor’s office communications manager. He has started a five-day quarantine period, recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“Fortunately, I am feeling fine and will be working remotely during my quarantine period,” said Nicholson. “I am sorry that I am not able to share in the celebrations of our high school seniors and personally congratulate them on their achievements. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
Nicholson is currently asymptomatic, according to the mayor’s office. He is fully vaccinated and boosted.
Nicholson expects to return to his office in the City Hall next Tuesday.
