Harriers run through Lynn Woods

LYNN — As July 4 speeds ever-closer in the rear view mirror, the Lynn Woods weekly road races are rounding into full swing.

A full slate of races was held Wednesday night, starting from the Lynnfield Street gate. 

In the first race, the 5.8-mile master’s trail, Matt Veiga of Lynn took top honors in 41:00. 

Three of the top five finishers in the race were from Lynn: Nakri Dao (third, 43:40) and Rafael Villatoro (fourth, 44:23).

There were 71 participants. 

In the short race (2.5 miles), it was Anthony Colella of Swampscott finishing second in 18:01, Rachael Brennan of Lynn, (fourth, 18:05) and Will Fox, Swampscott, (sixth, 18:51). There were 81 runners in all.

For children, John Doyle, Catherine Bushway, and Alexis O’Brien of Lynn finished fourth through sixth.
