Lynn child falls off porch

LYNN — Police responded to 28 Houghton St. Friday afternoon after a 3-year-old fell from a third-story porch.  

Lt. Michael Kmiec of the Lynn Police Department said that the child was conscious when officers arrived at the scene and a parent was present. The child was transported to Mass General Hospital. 

Kmiec said that the incident appears to be an accident. It is possible that the child may have landed on some recycling containers which would have helped cushion the fall.
