SAUGUS —A 78-year-old Saugus man who went missing for several hours Wednesday was found safe in Somerville and reunited with his family, police said.
Thai Tran, who has dementia, was located around 5 p.m. Wednesday, Chief Michael Ricciardelli said in a statement. Tran was reported missing around 2 p.m.
“I want to thank community members, Somerville Police, Revere Police, Massachusetts State Police and the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council for their assistance,” said Ricciardelli. “We are pleased we were able to locate this individual thanks to cooperation with our law enforcement partners and the public.”
Saugus police believe Tran may have traveled to Revere before taking a cab to Somerville.
