PEABODY — Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. and the city are hosting the MassHire-North Shore Career Center at City Hall Wednesday from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

The event is an opportunity for job seekers to learn about local opportunities and for businesses to receive assistance with job openings, referrals, and available state resources.

“We are excited to host the MassHire-Northshore Career Center at City Hall,” said Bettencourt. “The center offers a one-stop shop for those looking for career guidance, job search assistance, veterans, and youth career services.”

One-on-one meetings will be available and walk-ins are welcome.

Career coach advising will also be available. Topics include training opportunities leading to better pay and marketability. Job search assistance will be provided for participants to review the labor market in various industries and discuss salary expectations, one-on-one resume review, and how to make connections that lead to meaningful jobs and careers.

There will also be a Youth Career Center for young people from 16 to 24 years of age.

A dedicated veterans services employment representative will be on hand to assist veterans with employment issues, training, and many other veteran-specific resources.

A business engagement professional will also be on hand to assist businesses in filling job openings and learning about state resources that are available.
