LYNN — The Essex District Attorney’s office on Thursday identified the victims of the triple murder/suicide in the city Tuesday afternoon as Mohamad Sharifi, 66, the shooter’s father, Sanjar Halin, 34, the shooter’s brother-in-law, and Abdul Halin, 56, her brother-in-law’s father.
The District Attorney’s office identified the shooter, who took her own life following the slayings, as Kahosay Sharifi, 31.
The killings played out over just over 90 minutes across an area spanning roughly a mile, beginning at Kahosay Sharifi’s home at 98 Rockaway St., where Mohamad Sharifi and Sanjar Halin were found dead of gunshot wounds just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. Abdul Halin was found shot inside his vehicle outside 44 Laighton St.
Kahosay Sharifi then turned the gun on herself inside the Stop & Shop parking lot on Washington Street.
In a lengthy Facebook post published minutes after police responded to the shootings, Sharifi accused Sanjar Halin of abusing her sister over the course of 14 years, and wrote that her father and Halin’s father had turned a blind eye to the abuse.
