LYNNFIELD — A Healthy Lynnfield (AHL), which works to empower Lynnfield residents to make healthy choices, to prevent youth substance use, and to support programs that help all young people thrive, is searching for a full-time program coordinator — a position previously held by Julie Greene since June 2020 — to join the 501(C)(3) organization.

AHL Substance Use Prevention Coordinator Peg Sallade said Greene is moving on to finish graduate school and get her specialized clinical hours in an internship at an intensive adolescent outpatient program.

“While we are sad to see Julie leave, we wish her well on pursuing her master’s degree and clinical licensure. She has made a positive impact on youth programming here in Lynnfield,” Sallade said. “This position is a great opportunity to work in a community-based setting with youth and our many coalition partners to implement creative substance use prevention programs.”

The program coordinator oversees all program aspects of the Drug Free Communities-funded work plan for the town, including all youth program activities. The coordinator is also expected to mobilize support for A Healthy Lynnfield’s mission, engage residents in the activities of A Healthy Lynnfield, facilitate work groups and project-based activities, and oversee all aspects of A Healthy Lynnfield’s youth leadership work.

“Work includes partnering with youth-serving and other organizations on prevention activities. The program coordinator will use the strategic prevention framework and integrate principles of health equity, research, and best practices for community prevention into the work of the community partnership,” the job listing, which can be found on the town’s website, reads.

The coordinator will work with the project director and outreach coordinator to provide information to the community, enhance skills through training and education, provide support, help shift cultural norms around substance use, and educate the community about prevention policy.

He/she will also assist with evaluation and reporting, and monitor and communicate progress of grant goals and objectives in relation to the overall goals of the organization. The coordinator will also be responsible for general office administrative functions, including social media and marketing of programs, purchasing per grant budget, and tracking program metrics.

The position is full time, 35 hours per week and has a salary of between $45,000 and $48,000.

Those interested in applying should send a cover letter and resume to Sallade at [email protected].
