NAHANT — A shark was spotted off Nahant Beach Reservation Monday afternoon, prompting a warning from state officials.
The Department of Conservation and Recreation announced the sighting on Twitter and urged those headed to the beach to use caution.
Purple flags were posted around the beach to indicate the sighting.
State officials noted that lifeguard services have concluded following the summer season.
