Lynnfield shuts down Triton

For its third straight victory of the season, Lynnfield, now (3-0), defeated Triton on the road 2-0. Sophomores Dillon Riley and Joel Anthony each notched a goal for the Pioneers and Rocco Schena picked up an assist. 

Remarkably, the Pioneers have won each of their first three games without allowing a goal and will hope to continue that trend Thursday against Rockport (6). 

BOYS SOCCER

KIPP Academy 4,

Nashoba Valley 0

KIPP is also on its own run of domination. With its victory over Nashoba Valley, KIPP moves to (3-0). During the three-game unbeaten stretch, KIPP has put up 25 goals and has yet to allow a goal this season. Kevin Rodriguez had a great game scoring a goal and notching two assists. Josue de Leon and Jessiel Amparo also scored, while Nashoba scored an own goal. 

KIPP will look to keep its nice opening streak alive against Whittier Tech Wednesday (5:30)

GOLF

Archbishop Williams 3,

St. Mary’s 1

The Spartans dropped their first game of the season and now sit at (3-1). In a losing effort, Eric Bridges (24) and Shea Newhall (23) were the Spartans’ top scorers. St. Mary’s will look to get back to its winning ways Wednesday against Arlington Catholic (3). 

Marblehead 50,

Lynn Classical 22

The Magicians’ victory keeps its undefeated season alive at (4-0). In a matchup with Classical, Jacob Hershfield (5 to 4), Charlie Grenier (6.5 to 2.5), Marty Ryan (8 to 1), Jacob Aizanman (6 to 3), Matt Mahan (9 to 0), and Adrian Baron (9 to 0) all won their matches. Ryan also was the medalist with 39 points. The Magicians will next take on Beverly Wednesday (4). 

In the loss, Classical’s Brady Warren won his match 6 to 3, shooting an even par with a 36. TJ Walsh also won his match 5.5 to 3.5, and Ryan Dugan and Ethan Chevalier did their best in losses. The loss drops Classical to (0-2). 

FIELD HOCKEY 

Danvers 4,

Marblehead 0 

In the Magicians’ loss to Danvers, Maggie Beauchesne was still great in net, totaling 18 saves. Emma Callaghan, Lane Kaeyer, and James Marcy are also playing well for Marblehead. 

Swampscott 1,

Peabody 0

Swampscott got a nice victory over the Tanners behind a goal from Brooke Waters. Goalie Cece O’Connor was excellent in net, posting the shutout, and Swampscott will battle with Ipswich Thursday (4).
