LYNN – The Tech tied Saugus 2-2 in its boy’s soccer game. Brian Pineda of Saugus scored first at the fifteen-minute and thirty-second mark in the first half letting Saugus take the lead 1-0. In the second half, Lynn Tech’s Jason Robles tied the game 1-1 at the eight-minute and thirty-second mark in the second half.

“Based on the injuries we have, we got about five starters out right now. So, we are using some of the bench today and they fought the whole game,” said Lynn Techs coach Eric Moreno. “There were two freak free kicks that they put away. We missed a lot of shots but you know we were able to recap the last goal and make it a 2-2 game. So, I’m happy with the results”

“Nobody is more important than anybody else. We moved the ball around today and we played our game. We took all the shots that we could get,” said Saugus’s coach Guillermo Sepulveda. “Alejandro Ortega played a really great game and Brian Pineda did as well. Of course, we have our captain slash coach Melvin Hernandez who did great. They all play the middle and attack, so our defense was really good today. Nicholas DeOliverira was a new addition to the team, he was on fire.”

Pineda then scored again at the seventeen-minute and forty-five-second mark bringing the score to 2-1. Then with the final minutes of the game ticking away, Robles scored yet again tying the game 2-2.

“They have a very strong offense and they (Lynn Tech) are a good team. They got a couple of shots on us but we just gotta play our game,” said Sepulveda.

“We changed the formation a little bit and by changing the formation it just gives Greg (Amissi) a little more help because the teams know Greg and they want to double team him. They want to put two or three people on him,” said Moreno. “So for the most part he always works around it and this formation seems to work. After we get all of our players that are missing due to injury back you’re going to see that we have a great team. My team really fought hard all the way through so I’ll take it.”
