The St. Mary’s girls soccer team and Bishop Fenwick had a hard-fought matchup that ended in a 4-4 tie Wednesday evening. The Crusaders escaped the game with a tie when they notched a goal with under 30 seconds left in the game. St. Mary’s Brooke Moloney was excellent for the Spartans as she scored three goals for her second straight hat trick.
Sophie Skabeikis also scored in the content, and the draw gives St. Mary’s a 4-2-1 record.

Saugus 0
The Magicians got a nice win over Saugus on the backs of Samantha Dormer and Carlin Mcgowan, who each scored a goal. Marblehead also had some great play in net as Rachael Albert and Kate Burns combined for a shutout. Marblehead now sits at 3-1-2.

The lone goal of the contest that proved to be the game-winning goal was scored by Peabody’s Ryan Alves on an assist from Bruno Correia. AJ Forte, Kyle Lobao, Jaiden Fils-Aime, and Aidan Pais all played well. Peabody is now 5-1-1.

Cardinal Spellman 37
Andrew Potter and Stephen Nason led the way in the Spartans’ bludgeoning of Cardinal Spellman, scoring 36 points each. Eric Bridges and Anthony Barror also played well, notching 34 points each. The Spartans’ win pushes them to 6-2 on the season.

Peabody 17
Peabody suffered a tough loss at the hands of Beverly; however, the loss did have a bright spot. Ryan Brunet pushed Beverly’s top player Aiden Leblanc to the brink in a match that went to the last hole. While Brunet did not get the victory, he showed tremendous fortitude in his effort.

In the loss, Matt Weed and Matt Mahan won their matches while Christopher Locke,
Charlie Grenier and Marty Ryan tied their matches. Marblehead is now 6-2 on the year.

Jason Bouffard, Micah Hashikawa, and Dakoda Langevain won their matches for Big Blue. Swampscott now has a record of 3-4.
Lynnfield 152,
Georgetown 147
Gavin Leuci led the way for Lynnfield in its victory scoring a 32. In the loss, Georgetown had some great performances from Logan Corriveau and Will Sorenson, who each scored a 32, and Ty Southall with a 31.

Danvers 1
Peabody won the first two sets of the game 25-13, 25-17 before dropping the third set and finishing off Danvers in the fourth set 25-16. Michaela Alperen, who had 16 service points and three aces, Isabel Bettencourt, who notched 15 kills, and Abby Bettencourt, who had 21 assists and 15 kills, all played well.

In the tightly contested loss, Marblehead’s Keira Sweetnam had 27 kills, and 18 digs, while Isabel Wabno notched eight kills and 13 digs. Caitlin Parkman played well defensively with 26 digs. Setters Tamya Johnson and Julia Potvin did a good job helping their teammates as they combined for 44 assists.

The boys from Lynnfield lost their first meet of the season to Newburyport but had a nice performance from senior captain Angelo DeLuca who ran a personal best 17:16 to come in sixth overall.
