BOSTON — St. Mary’s School graduate and world-renowned singer Amanda Mena will perform her first self-produced 90-minute program at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 at the City Winery in Boston.
Born in Salem and raised in Lynn, some of Mena’s first performances took place at the Lynn YMCA. She is now in her second year at the Berklee College of Music, following several successful appearances on national and international television shows. At only 15 years old, Mena received Mel B’s Golden Buzzer on NBC’s reality show, “America’s Got Talent.” She made it to the show’s semi-finals and was eliminated just before the show’s finale. Last year, she was a contestant on ABC’s reality show, “American Idol.” Mena won the American Spanish-language version of NBC’s “The Voice,” titled “La Voz Kids” in 2014.
The singer-songwriter spent four years living in the Dominican Republic before living in Lynn. Her song in Spanish, “Soy Latina” has over 1 million views on YouTube.
Mena has headlined several other major shows in Hollywood, Nashville, and on Broadway. Mena has also performed the National Anthem at a New England Patriots Game in 2019 and sang at Boston’s 4th of July Esplanade Concert.
Mena’s City Winery performance will include an all-star 5-piece band and dancers from top artists studying at the Berklee College of Music and N.E. Conservatory.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the event. Tickets for seats up front are available for purchase for $75 and general seat tickets cost $30 per person. All seats are at tables.
