Lynn Classical’s girls soccer team (14-2-1) defeated Everett on Wednesday, 6-1, with captains Ava Thurman and Delaney Dana netting two goals apiece. The other two goals were tallied by sophomore Mea Papazoglou. Gianna Parker, McKenna Duncan, and Dana racked up assists for the Rams, and Classical picked up win number 14. The Rams host Essex Tech on Saturday with a starting time of 10 a.m. at Manning Field.

GIRLS SOCCER

Marblehead 3, Winthrop 0
The Magicians improved to 8-4-5 on season with a shutout victory over Winthrop, 3-0. Sydney Ball collected a goal and an assist while Samantha Dormer found the back of the net along with two helpers. Cait Mullins also scored, and Talia Selby, Lily Gerson, Stella Monaco and Lani Gilmore all contributed with solid play.

BOYS SOCCER

Stang 2, St. Mary’s 1
St. Mary’s superstar Kaya Jackson had the lone goal on Wednesday, but his team was bested by Bishop Stang, 1-0. Dylan Moroney and Derek Garcia contributed with strong team play from the defender position, and the Spartans finished the season ranked 2nd in the CCL – only behind Bishop Feehan. After a four-game winning streak earlier this month, St. Mary’s has lost two of its last three games – the other being a tie. Despite the recent slip, the Spartans remain 11-4-2 on the year with their season finale this Saturday against Greater Lowell Tech at Manning Field (2 p.m.).
