LYNN — Police are still searching for the suspected shooter who allegedly fired a gun at a man near 7 Chase Street on Tuesday, before barricading himself in a nearby house.
Officers responded to the area at 3:09 p.m. after a man called police to say he had been shot at, said Lynn police spokesman Lt. Michael Kmiec. The suspected shooter then fled back into the residence, where he barricaded himself, according to David Procopio, a spokesman for State Police.
Until 5:30 p.m., State Police STOP Team troopers, dressed in camouflage and armed with rifles, surrounded, entered, and searched the house. The suspect was not found inside the apartment.
Police have not received any reports of any injuries, Kmiec said. Pebbles Fuentes, who lives in a basement apartment across the street from 7 Chase St., said that she heard two gunshots around 3 p.m. as she was leaving to go to the YMCA.
Fuentes said that on Sunday, she saw two men, at least one of whom was armed with a gun, standing on her front porch.
Law enforcement officials blocked off Hanover Street and the entrance to Chase Street at Hanover and Baker street until approximately 6 p.m.
