Classical picks up powderpuff victory

What an event it was on Sunday for the Lynn Classical and Lynn English powderpuff teams as the Rams escaped with a 12-0 victory at Manning Field. The defensive MVPs for Classical were Akiyah Brown and Gisselle Cortes. The two made several key plays on defense to help with the shutout. The offensive MVPs were Brynn Bullock and Ava Thurman – each running for a touchdown. Ava Thurman also ran for over 150 yards. First year Classical Head Coach Rod Valrie Jr. was very pleased with how his girls stepped up in his coaching debut. “We did this all together,” Valrie Jr. said. He also thanked his assistant coach Derek Edmonds who coached the defense.
