PEABODY — The North Shore Children’s Museum (NSCM) is offering a special opportunity for customers this holiday season, starting on Giving Tuesday.

For every museum gift certificate purchased – in any amount – Peabody residents Martha and Chuck Holden will make a $100 donation to the museum.

“This matching challenge is uniquely structured to allow our customers to have a philanthropic impact while getting something in return – above and beyond the incredible feeling that donating provides,” said NSCM Executive Director Ali Haydock.

“Gift certificates to the museum will make a special gift this holiday season for any little ones in your life. Families are increasingly wanting to give ‘experiences’ over another toy. The Holdens’ generosity is inspirational and we are so grateful to be able to use it to leverage additional revenue for the museum.”

Haydock said philanthropy is vital to the museum’s ability to offer discounted ticket options for low-income families, provide free enriching programming, and enhance and add to exhibit spaces. The Holdens have agreed to donate up to $10,000 – which translates into a total of 100 gift certificates.

The museum has maintained the original footprint of the former TD Bank. The office space allows for 14 exhibit rooms with themes ranging from trains to outer space to storytelling and everything in between. The museum also includes a large workshop and party space, which is used for additional programming and birthday party rentals.

The museum is open for general admission on Thursdays from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.;  Fridays from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m.; Saturdays from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and Sundays from 12-4 p.m. Tickets are $12 per child/adult over the age of 12 months.
