LYNN — The Lynn Public Schools is partnering with LEAP for Education to open its first teen center at Lynn English High School on Jan. 27. 2023. The teen center will be a free program open to all Lynn English students in grades 9 through 12.

The planning and design of the program is underway, and student recruitment will begin in December and continue through January.

“Based on a survey of parents and students at Lynn English, there is significant demand for more personalized college and career services as well as English Literacy supports for English learners,” said Executive Director at LEAP for Education, Linda Saris. “We are very excited to be opening this program and want the design to reflect the needs of the community which is why we are holding this public forum for feedback.”

LEAP will be aiming for an enrollment of 30 teens and will expand that number next fall.

LEAP for Education is hosting a public forum on Monday, Dec. 5 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the library at Lynn English (on the second floor) to get feedback on the proposed teen center design.

”We welcome all community members including high school students and parents to attend,” LEAP for Education said.

Free pizza and beverages will be provided at the public forum.

For any question, contact Avre Vickers, Teen Center Manager, [email protected], or at 978-219-1935.
