SAUGUS — On Saturday, Fuddruckers will host “Mom’s Cancer Fighting Angels,” an annual Christmas party-themed fundraiser event to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
The 3rd annual event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Route 1 Fuddruckers located at 900 Broadway and will feature an ugly sweater contest, raffles, the Saugus High School Acapella group, and a toy drive, and residents are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to be collected for Boston Children’s Hospital.
Twenty percent of all sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society, and the event will also feature: Santa and Mrs. Claus arriving on board the north pole fire department engine, Santa’s Christmas parade sleigh, a monster truck from New Hampshire, an ice sculpture sponsored by Webster First Credit Union and Boston Board Up Service, a reading of the night before Christmas from a local law enforcement officer, and cookie decorating.
According to the American Cancer Society, the Relay for Life is “the world’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising event dedicated to saving lives from cancer” and funds go directly towards “breakthrough research, 24/7 support for cancer patients, access to lifesaving screenings, and much more.”
