The Big Blue boys hockey team came back after being down 3-1 to beat Beverly at Endicott College, 5-3. Quinn Hitchcock took charge with two goals and an assist, Derek Faia had two goals as well, including the game winner. Ronan Locke had a goal and an assist, and Kody Langevain, Will Roddy, and Aidan Sprague all had two helpers with Ben Tolosa adding another. Jason Bouffard had 22 saves in net, and the Big Blue are 1-0 on the young season.
BOYS HOCKEY
St. Mary’s 3, Archbishop Williams 1
The Spartans moved to 2-0 on the year with a 3-1 victory over the Bishops on Wednesday, with Marc Hilton, Aidan Fitzpatrick, and Brady Bullock all finding twine for St. Mary’s. The Spartans return to play on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. against Pope Francis.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Cathedral 55, St. Mary’s 53
With a 2-0 record heading into its contest against Cathedral High, St. Mary’s lost at the buzzer 55-53. Despite the loss, that doesn’t mean there weren’t any negatives to take away. The Spartans faced a 14-point deficit, but clawed their way back to even things up. It’s the first loss of the season for St. Mary’s, but the Spartans return to action Tuesday against Seffner Christian at noon for some revenge.
SWIMMING & DIVING
Lynn Tech 91, Greater Lowell Tech 91
In the Tigers’ swimming meet, it came down to Lynn Tech needing 1st place in the last relay to tie – in the relay were Zak Bidoudane, Assidyn Brown, Rashard Newhall, and Chris Rodriquez. Vinny Marino and Alberto Gerado also shined in their respective events.
