December 23, 2022 by Joey Barrett

The Prep’s wrestling team was on a mission Friday, going 4-0 against Marshfield (76-3), Bristol-Aggie (66-18), Barnstable (74-4), and Middleboro (78-6). Alex Schaeublin, Braedon Goes, Jimmy Lally, Jaden D’Ambrosio, Victor Mejias, Rawson Iwanicki, Vince Bilotti, Angel Heredia, and Alex Bajoras all went 4-0 for the high-flying Eagles.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Fenwick 49, Pentucket 45
In a close battle at Fenwick High, the Crusaders escaped with a 49-45 win over Pentucket to improve to 3-1 before the Oliver Ames Christmas Tournament next week. Junior captain Cecilia Kay had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists, while the freshmen duo of Celia Neilson (11 points, six steals) and Caitlin Boyle (nine points, seven rebounds) continued to shine in their debut seasons.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Lowell 61, St. John’s Prep 58
Despite the Eagles’ Mike O’Brien showing out with 26 points, the Prep’s boys basketball team was defeated by Lowell in tight fashion on Friday at home. Lowell’s largest lead was just eight throughout the game’s entirety, but the three ball was the difference maker for the Red Raiders.
