You know what I’ve been thinking? No one had a better Christmas than the Swampscott boys hockey team. The Big Blue won the Lynn Christmas Tournament on Tuesday and defeated Lynn and Rockport on back-to-back nights. Against Lynn, and in his first varsity start, freshman goalie Dom Pappalardo recorded a shutout, while the offense lit up the scoreboard like a Christmas tree. Zack Ryan (two), Ronan Locke (two), Kody Langevain (two), Derek Faia, and Aidan Sprague all scored. Then, it was time for Rockport in the championship game. Swampscott won 4-3 with Jason Bouffard collecting 27 saves. Sprague, Locke, Faia, and Jackson Bartram all found twine, and in the only acceptable time for it, there was a (Big) Blue Christmas. Swampscott, good week.
