SAUGUS — The former site of Petco in Saugus sold for more than $5 million late last month.
The property at 682 Broadway is the current site of Harbor Freight Tools, a chain of tool and equipment retailers headquartered in Calabasas, California, with locations in Danvers and Medford. The $5.83 million sale price generated $26,562 in revenue for the state via excise tax, according to Southern Essex Register of Deeds John O’Brien’s office.
Delaware-based Agree Central LLC purchased the property from 682, LLC on Dec. 29, according to a deed filed with O’Brien’s office.
O’Brien’s office qualified the sale as significant because the sale price was higher than $5 million.
Town assessing records list 682 Broadway as being worth roughly $2.4 million.
