Local communities tied to missing Cohasset woman

January 10, 2023 by [email protected]

As the investigation into the case of missing Cohasset woman Ana Walshe continues to unfold, multiple communities in the area have become involved.

According to the Marblehead Town Clerk’s office, Ana Walshe, the Cohasset woman who mysteriously disappeared on or around New Year’s Day 2023, previously lived in Marblehead. Records show that she moved from 589 Essex St. in Lynn to 6 Edgewood Road in Marblehead on Jun. 16, 2020.

Ana Walshe lived in Marblehead for nearly six months before moving to Cohasset on Dec. 10, 2020. Edgewood Road is located off Prince Street, and the property — a split-level ranch — is situated right behind Veterans Middle School on the dead end street.

On Monday, Police removed a dumpster at The Landing at Vinnin Square off of Paradise Road in Swampscott. The dumpster is currently being processed and could contain possible evidence in the case. Officials said the dumpster was located outside the complex where Brian Walshe’s mother lives. Brian Walshe is the husband of Ana Walshe and was arrested Sunday and charged with misleading a police investigation, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement. Prior to his arrest, Brian Walshe — formerly a resident of Lynn — was on house arrest awaiting sentencing for a case involving Andy Warhol paintings that he pleaded guilty to attempting to steal and sell back in April 2021.

According to the Norfolk County district attorney’s office, “a number of items” were gathered, though no details on the items are currently being provided. The dumpster belongs to JRM Hauling and Recycling, a company based in Peabody, and was hauled away after police taped off the area. It was secured and sent to a location where it could be processed, according to Sgt. Jay Locke, a spokesman for the Swampscott Police Department. Locke stated that police were also investigating dumpsters in the Connecticut area.

In Peabody, investigators looked through a transfer station for possible evidence that could potentially be used in the case. According to a report by CBS News, sources told WBZ-TV’s I-Team that investigators had found a hatchet, hacksaw, trash bags with blood, a rug and used cleaning supplies at the transfer station.

At the time of this report, no additional charges have been made against Walshe.

Ana Walshe, 39, was last seen on New Year’s Day and was reported missing by co-workers on Jan. 4.
