LYNN — Douglas Brioso, 27, of Medford was arrested on a warrant for home invasion, three counts of armed robbery and two counts of kidnapping at 11:23 a.m Friday — Lynn’s second kidnapping and home invasion-related arrest in seven days.
Brioso was subsequently arraigned in Lynn District Court Friday afternoon, where a protective order was placed on his file, restricting the public’s access to Brioso’s police report.
Additionally, Police Chief Chris Reddy said that Lynn Police could not comment on Brioso’s arrest.
Similarly, last Friday, Mark Arevalo, 27, of 15 Huss Ct. was arrested for kidnapping, four counts of armed robbery, home invasion, six counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and four firearm charges in connection to an alleged robbery that occurred late December.
Arevalo’s case, too, was restricted from public access, but Captain Dave Brown wrote that Arevalo’s kidnapping charge was alleged to have occurred during an armed robbery.
Brown added that Arevalo’s case was part of an active and ongoing investigation.
“To share the details of the case at this time, could potentially compromise the investigation,” Brown wrote.
While both Arevalo and Brioso were arrested within a week on similar charges, police could not confirm whether or not the two arrests were linked.
