LYNNFIELD — The Select Board swiftly approved a continued partnership with the Lynnfield Center Water District at a Thursday evening meeting.
The Board approved two motions. The first is an intermunicipal agreement with Lynnfield Center Water District regarding sharing of services of public works director and town engineer. The second is an agreement regarding sharing of services and facilities and municipal water rates and usage.
The Board described both items as a “win-win” for the town and the water district. The first agreement allows both entities to take advantage of the expertise of the director and engineer while remaining cost conscious.
The second agreement allows the town and water district to share gas rates, heavy equipment and light staff. In the past, the town has been able to use this agreement to supply water to the Common as well as a new track and field.
Both of the motions passed unanimously.
