BOSTON – Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) Manager and Peabody resident Angelo Bordonaro received Massachusetts Port Authority’s (Massport) “Logan Stars” award on Jan. 10 for his quick response to a medical emergency.
In August of 2022, a passenger in Terminal C at Boston Logan International Airport fell ill. When TSA was notified, Bordonaro and a colleague responded, finding the passenger unresponsive. While waiting for medics to arrive, they performed CPR and used an automated external defibrillator (AED), stabilizing the individual’s pulse. Once medical personnel arrived, the passenger was transported to a hospital.
According to a statement from Massport, “Bordonaro and his colleague stepped up and took swift action and because of that, the individual is alive today.” For this reason, Bordonaro received the “Logan Stars” award.
Massport honored the heroic and life-saving actions of Bordonaro, a 21-year employee of TSA, during the 17th Annual Massport S.A.F.E. and Logan Stars Ceremony held earlier this month.
City Councilor-at-Large Jon Turco commented on Bordonaro’s bravery and commitment to safety with pride. “I’ve had the pleasure of attending the Logan Stars award ceremony many times.”
He continued, “It’s always great to hear some of the amazing things the employees at Logan do. This year, as a Logan employee and a Peabody city councilor, I was especially proud to hear of Mr. Bordonaro’s heroic actions.”
