LYNN — Flames poured through the windows of a one and a half story home at the corner of Summer Street and Witt Street Tuesday night, displacing three adult residents.
Ladder 2 Firefighters arrived at 1 Witt Street at approximately 10 p.m., where they saw fire coming out of the second floor bedroom.
District Fire Chief Joseph Zukas said that firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in under an hour. The fire appeared to have started on the second floor bedroom on the right side of the house, he said.
“The guys made a quick knock down. In under a half hour they had the fire under control. They were on the scene for an hour and a half just to look for hotspots and make sure everything was out,” Zukas said. “Looking at the house, it appears the fire started on the second floor bedroom on the right hand side of the house.”
No civilians or firefighters were injured, but Zukas said that two adults and a dog were home at the time the fire broke out. The American Red Cross is currently relocating the three displaced residents.
The fire’s cause is still under investigation, Zukas said.
