Coming off its loss to Saugus a few nights ago, the Tigers picked up a tough home win (65-52) against the Madison Park Cardinals. Freshman star Giovanni Jean led the Tigers with 30 points, and helped out on the defensive end with three steals. Caesar Reyes contributed with 14 points, four rebounds, and three steals as Tech moved to 12-3 on the year.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lynnfield 43, Ipswich 32

The Pioneers found their groove and picked up their seventh win of the year. In a back-and-forth battle against the Tigers, the Pioneers took a slim 22-20 lead into halftime. With a four-point lead going into the final quarter, the Pioneers relied on their defense and held Ipswich to six points in the final frame. It was a “great team effort” according to Sue Breen.

Classical 53, Malden 42

Classical remains perfect after picking up another win on the road – this one a 53-42 triumph against the Malden Golden Tornadoes. Akiyah Brown led the Lady Rams with 12 points and Lauren Wilson chipped in with 10. Classical returns home for a matchup against English on Tuesday.

Swampscott 35, Essex Tech 27

The Big Blue won their second straight game in a 35-27 decision against Essex Tech. Swampscott defended its home court and battled until the final buzzer to pick up win number six this season.

Everett 63, English 59

Despite an incredible individual performance from Matty Laurino (30 points and 14 rebounds), the Bulldogs came up short Thursday night, dropping their record to 11-5. English looks to get revenge Tuesday against Classical.
